battery today
Officially designated as Battery A, 2d Battalion, 218th Field Artillery, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon Army National Guard, the battery today is a complex unit designed to fight in complex situations. The battery is authorized 98 personnel and eight howitzers. Current doctrine mandates the use of two 4-gun platoons which constantly move-shoot-communicate-move-shoot-communicate-etc.
The battery has recently returned home after having been mobilized with the entire 41st Brigade Combat Team for a year-long rotation in Iraq. Their mission is complete..... now for a little R&R!
